Renal failure is a complication of numerous diseases of the kidney, including nephrocalcinosis and chronic glomerulonephritis. Many of these renal disorders, including Alport syndrome, Wegener granulomatosis, Potter syndrome and diabetes mellitus have ophthalmologic manifestations. End-stage chronic renal disease can result in hypercalcemia and its complications.
