Familial glucocorticoid deficiency (defective corticotropin receptor, glucocorticoid resistance) is a rare cause of congenital adrenal gland hypoplasia [hypoplasia - adrenal] and Addison disease. The disorder is caused by mutations in the NR3C1 gene.
