Numerous diseases of the skin affect the ocular tissues. Some may involve the eyelids and eyebrow (basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma [carcinoma - squamous cell], sebaceous carcinoma, melanoma [melanoma - skin], Brooke tumor, Bowen disease, basal cell nevus syndrome , acrochordon, acanthoma, acne rosacea, acne vulgaris, actinic keratosis, oculocutaneus albinism [albinism - oculocutaneous], keratoacanthoma, and seborrheic keratosis. Other skin diseases include alopecia, psoriasis, ichthyosis, various types of dermatitis (atopic dermatitis), and epidermolysis bullosa.
